MEET THE NOT DONE YET ATHLETES

  • Sagirah run
    Sagirah

After being diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis in 2018, Sagirah was told she wouldn’t be able to walk by the years end. Not one to accept the unacceptable, she learned about HSCT – Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant treatment – and took up marathon running to spread awareness. In the five years since she started, her running community has ultimately played the most critical role in her recovery. And while her symptoms may have prevented her from completing her previous marathon, they didn't stop her from crossing the finish line in San Francisco and showing everyone she is Not Done Yet.

  • Michael run
    Michael

In the 3rd Grade, Michael was diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa and in his early teens, began to lose his vision. But true to form, while he started to lose his sight, he persevered and since has then been committed to an active lifestyle. And while his eyes were waning, he knew his legs wouldn't and took up running 10 years ago. Now, after not completing a marathon in 2018 due to a knee injury, Michael ran the full 26.2 miles in San Francisco and showed the world he is Not Done yet.

  • Ashley run
    Ashley

Ashley was a multi-sport athlete and decorated swimmer before taking up running at the age of 22. During her first marathon attempt in 2016, shin splints and cramps stopped her from running across the finish and ever since she’s been driven to run another. In 2021, smack dab in the middle of the Pandemic, she stepped up to the plate and donated a kidney to a stranger in need. After making a full recovery and months of difficult training, she gave her all and finished the San Francisco Marathon proving beyond a doubt she is Not Done Yet.
